Zhumell z1210/13/2023 ![]() I dont care about the intelliscope feature and like the idea of a solid tube. Originally, Id planned on getting the XX12i, but the Z12 deal and reviews have got me reconsidering. A coma corrector may very well be needed to take full advantage of picture quality the Z12 can provide. Orion XXT2i - posted in Reflectors: Im thinking about adding a 12-inch scope to my repertoire. However, reflector scopes with a fast focal ratio suffer from coma which is noticeable around the edges of the field of view. So, you can land a reflector scope with a larger aperture at a better price than a refractor scope of equal size. Mirrors are cheaper to manufacture than the types of glass needed for refractors, and mirrors only need to be shaped on one side. However, the larger in size you go, the more you will sacrifice portability, ease of handling, and of course, a lightweight and compact design.įortunately, reflector telescopes, which this is, offer more value than refractor telescopes when it comes to getting more scope for the money. It also affects how much useable magnification you can take advantage of. This kit offers the easiest and quickest way to improve your Z12 and compatible Dobsonians. It is most apparent with expensive widefield eyepieces and it does take something of a practiced eye to notice it. Farpoint Upgrade Kit - Zhumell Z12 includes four of Farpoints most popular items to enhance Zhumell Z12 Dobsonians: Collimation Knobs and Springs, Lifting Straps, Light Shield, and Magnetic Bag Weight. For most purposes it is not a big problem. ![]() As far as how much coma is visible in an 12inch F/5. Orion XXT2i - posted in Reflectors: This is a state of mind, and its subjective, and the Orion is not any higher in quality then the Z12,I dont think he was passing his opinion off as an objective fact, which you then do with your Orion is not any higher in quality statement. Thanks for the opinions, everyone. A perfect 12 inch F/5 mirror and a Zhumell 12 inch F/5 mirror will have the same coma. The amount of light that can be “collected” is determined by the size of the objective lens – the aperture. Coma is a function of the focal ratio of the mirror. The more light collected means you can see very dim objects better and brighter than you would with a smaller bucket. The bigger the bucket, the more light is collected. The Z10 and Z12 are f/4.x which means theyre unusable without a coma corrector. This got rid of that The Z8 is an f/5.9 telescope. Cons: Comments: The outside 30 of my Zhumell Z8 showed coma (where the stars look like seagulls). You will also get two fully multi-coated eyepieces: a 2 30mm eyepiece for wide field views and a 1.25 9mm eyepiece for higher magnification. 5.0 Zhumell Telescope Pros: Quality Lenses,Easy to Use. It’s big, but you know the saying, “bigger is better.” But, why is that? In the telescope industry, there are many that refer to telescopes as light buckets. The Zhumell Z12 Dobsonian telescope features a massive 12 parabolic primary mirror that captures a substantial amount of light and produces crisp, bright images free of visual defects like spherical aberration.
